MINEOLA,
N.Y. -- A unified show of force will take aim at drunken and
aggressive drivers on Nassau County's south shore this weekend.
On Saturday, June 23 officers from Nassau County, Freeport, Long Beach,
Lynbrook and Rockville Centre police departments will participate in a
"STOP DWI Initiative."
In addition to the paid police officers, auxiliary police officers will
be positioned around the south shore to hand out educational materials
about the dangers of drunk driving to drivers.
A press conference is scheduled Thursday at the Nassau County Police Department's
Highway Patrol Bureau in Bellmore to discuss the campaign.
